Anyone having problems getting npc's to follow on escort quests? (PC)

I had a problem on Xbox.

I just had to sit there for a bit and eventually the started up haha.

I had it on xbox, some chick was supposed to get into my truck but she just sat there, I tried running her over and it seemed to work.
