So wait...Is Dead Island set in 2006 or 2011. Because when you start tge Ryder White campaign it says "two weeks earlier", and then something 2006. But I thought the game was set in 2011.

For some reason I feel it is 2006, but I have no evidence to back that up with.

I was thinking that too. It must be set around the same time the game started production. I know it was been in production for a few years. That's my only explanation.

They probably set it back to 2006 to avoid the doomsday theory on 2012.
