"Special edition and "Regular version" players can't play co-op together?!?!?!

me and my friend had this prob on ps3 today, one or both need to get back to the orginal (aka no update) just go into game > game data utility > (dead island update w/e it may say) delete that n u guys will be able to connect all it is is the update

Actually I have the special edition and I play with people that have the regular edition. The only thing that makes the special edition different is the vouchers you get for the ripper and the bloodbath arena. The discs are still the same, also I play it on Ps3. Ive read that people that were online during the time that the patch went live ended up getting the update which I believe cuz I started playing thursday evening for a bit and couldnt connect with a friend called theircustomer support line and they said they had to turn off the servers due to technical issues then I went back on just after midnight and I had an update. But even so its still a hit or miss at times with connecting with my friends that have had the update special edition or not. So I believe its the servers.

When I did try to connect it gave an error message "Cannot connect, invited player is using a different version"
Not gonna hold my breath so... Yeah I'll believe it when I see it.

Tell your friend to install the 1.1.0-patch!

Or is it you that haven't got the 1.1.0?

You can see what version they're using in the Lobby, 1.0.0 can't play with 1.1.0
