"Special edition and "Regular version" players can't play co-op together?!?!?!

I noticed today when my excited friends got their "Regular" versions of the game that they can't join me online and vice-versa. W...T...F...
They better fix this BS quick.
I would'nt feel so bad had I not dumped $60+ into a NEW copy of this disappointment.

what console are you playing it on?
If your playing it on ps3, its possible that you've gotten the update and your friends havent.
You cant play with people who haven't updated their game yet, which they can't yet because apperently the patch was withdrawn.

Everyone doesn't get the update do to Microsoft and Sony certifications and rolling regional releases. That's common knowledge for patch releases.
