So here is the problem, my buddy and I decided to try system link to play Dead Island to kill some time over here in Afghanistan. We had no issues and everything worked great. He dropped out of the game one day cause he was tired and I played for maybe another 30 minutes before I quit. When we went to connect again and play some more it will not let us with the 2 characters we were using. We had some lower level characters (lvl 4 and lvl 7) that connected just fine. What could cause us not to be able to see each other with the higher lvl characters (25 and 24) but the lower lvl's work just fine. Can anyone shed some light on this please, I really hate having to do everything over again.
Do you both have the patch installed? Also, double check in your menu, that you both have all the game options settings the same. The last thing I would suggest, is that you both go to the same area in the game, like the church, for instance. Maybe if you are both in the same area, it'll click.
Sure. I system link all the time. The person with the highest progression should search for users to play with via the Game Lobby link. I always (not saying you need to) get both parties in the same location and it makes it easier. You both dont need the patches to see each other, but when you try and join it would say incompatible. Anyway, search with the higher progressed character and let it search fully, it will say something like (searching for games with lower chapter).
Notes: if you and your friend are using the same gamertag you will never see each other.
Wut platform is this? I know that I have NEVER, NEVER, NEVER successfully joined a friend thru the Game Lobby on Ps3. Most of the time they don't show up either unless you are on the same map. I've always used the "invite from friends list" on your console menu bar.
