Got problems with Campaign or how to do this and that?

I've searched the forum and can't really find an answer.
I know the top bar is health, the bottom bar is XP, and the circle is rage, but sometimes there is an arrow behind the health meter that bobs up and down, what is it??

I did research and tested it on my Dead Island. The arrow means you have points left to upgrade your skill tree. So say you have '1 skill point', that arrow will show, indicating you can level your skill tree again.

Umm no. I just pressed New Game then picked Chapter 18 so I auto get lvl 32 and get 31 free skill points and then I just lvled up my skills... Really fast and easy.

You gotta beat the game on atleast one character. Once you beat the game. Click new game then click the character you beat the game on and then pick chapter 18 and there u go
