    PS3 support

The multiplayer in this game is a joke. A complete and utter strewn-together-with-duct-tape joke. It's incredibly frustrating trying to play the game with friends, especially when the issues encountered have been around for nearly a year.

So, yeah, I'm fairly pissed at Deep Silver/Techland/whoever else was involved in the development. It's the tackiest, thinnest excuse for a MP I've seen in any game and I wholly regret spending money on buying DI immediately after its release. The 'support' for online gameplay is seemingly non-existent, seeing as my persistent searching to find any developer response has turned up nothing more concrete than a, 'restart your PS3'.

Late last year, when friends and I started playing the game, we found the online to be so massively infested with bugs it was unplayable nine times out of ten. Then, after looking to the community for help (since Deep Silver/other developers were evidently too busy rolling in all the cash they've made) I found a tedious workaround that involved deleting my friends from my PSN account, turning off my microphone, inviting friends who were already in a game just to get anywhere between a minute and an hour of gameplay before freezing/crashing. So we did the only reasonable thing and scrapped the game (at around chapter 4-5 or around several hundred workaround attempts later).

Came back to it tonight, thinking the developers would probably have fixed most of the issues and ironed out MP. Not so. The game worked for around a minute, wherein neither of the two of us playing could see each other move or take any action. Then my friend's game crashed. OK, just reset and try again. It worked for maybe thirty seconds upon the second game attempt (which took four or five invite attempts to actually get to a game) where I couldn't access any menus or use any of the shoulder buttons. So I had to use the PS button, quit the game and load again.

This time, asked friend to invite me to his game (as we are both at the same chapter progress having decided to ditch the game months ago). Absolutely nothing happened after I accepted an invite. Five or six times, nothing is happening. After a bunch of attempts I finally get to the 'Joining' stage of the endeavour, where I can hear my friend's microphone. Queue being immediately disconnected from the game. Rinse and repeat, with identical results, three more times.

End result: maybe five minutes of useless playing (where we couldn't see each other) with about forty spent trying to connect, reconnect, send invites, accept invites, reset consoles, relog PSN, delete friend from buddy list, send more invites, wait around uselessly as no invites work.

I am done with this game. I spent maybe twenty minutes looking for bug help, and been on the developer's websites but I couldn't see anything concrete. Reminded of how long I spent trying to find a fix/workaround last time. It simply is not worth the gained fun from playing a comparatively average game released by a developer group which either doesn't care for its customers, is remarkably lackadaisical in its product testing or is totally incompetent in software and network usage.

Just wanted to make others who are in my position aware that they are not alone, and that customer dissatisfaction can make a difference. Here's to a complete boycott of all games developed by Techland or Deep Silver.

Soooo... you just registered to this forum to complain and to tell that you are through with this game in your very first post???? get real man...

there are millions out there (game sold 4 million copies) spending houndreds of hours online with this game and their friends and enjoy it. Sure the Server is crapy but it works.... check your connection or get a better provider, higher inet speed.... reprogram your router and so on.... THIS is your problem not the game itself...........

    greetings

I had all the same problems. Then I found out I had a NAT 3 after a quick 5 minute internet search. It wasn't hard to put 2 and 2 together to figure out that the NAT setting was the problem. It was much harder for me to fix than it should have been, because 99% of the fixes I came across all were for changing ROUTER settings. I spent 2 days messing with the router and ended up locking myself out of my internet for several hours. None of it worked. I somehow stumbled across the fix by accidently clicking the wrong link. My problem was simply one small setting for my MODEM. My router settings were fine. All I had to do was click one little box to make something public and not private (sorry can't remember exactly) and am now able to play online. Kind of makes me mad that after all that work and frustration all I needed to do was click one stupid little box.
