If you know how to duplicate your weapons then I would suggest duplicating some of the more valuable ones and then selling the copies to a vendor. Then take the money and buy supplies and other things that you need. There are a few challenges that award you significant experience just for buying and selling items. I suggest mod materials because they stack in your inventory with no cap limits. Plus later as you gather all those wonderful mods you will have tons of crafting materials.....WIN..WIN!

Doing the challenges have helped me out a lot, and I realized that I got a modded weapon from someone which is basically fists with brass knuckles on the right hand and it does absurd amounts of damage and is level 0 but it also nets you upwards of 1k exp per kill.
