    Dead Island Riptide AI characters?

I don't know if this was posted in another thread, but it sounds like you can pick up some people along the way to help you out. I just hope you don't have to "take care of them" by feeding them or healing them or something stupid like that.

"You can also recruit military backup as you progress, but if you don’t take care of them correctly it might mean a few extra zombies gnawing at your heels."

personally, when i first started DI i was super bummed that the game didnt impliment the other 3 chars as AI. it seemed like a no brainer, the three people i didnt choose would be controlled by AI. it would make the game much better for those who dont play co-op, i know i planned on doing my first playthru solo (to get the story). also, if you are playing solo the cut-scenes are so stupid confusing.

"oh all my friends are magically back, cool."

if they honestly do have NPCs you can have help you out (actually help, like follow and kill things) i would love that. however, if they are anything like the AI mastermind of "nikoli" and "cho" from those escort missions... you can keep that garbage, those people were morrons and their pathfinding skills left much to be desired. the guy in that prison was the worst!

i cant really think of one game where AI was actually handy. even in one of my favorite games, resident evil 5 i could do without the partner. she can heal you but other then that just gets in the way and wastes ammo. and operation raccoon city the ai was horrible. they would run out into a field of bad guys and die or walk in front of you while you are shooting.

Left 4 Dead? That game would be near impossible without the 3 others.

lol. re5 was good for that too. there was a few parts where they would just run back and forth. even on the re6 demo had the same thing happen to me, the girl sat and ran into a light pole the entire time. but having played the heck out of dead island the AI isnt any better, ive had them run into fires, fall into the map. fall down and not get up, track back and forth, not move at all.

This is to be expected of nearly any AI in a game, it's nigh impossible to account for every situation that can arise, but falling into the map has happened to player-controlled characters in the game too, so it's nothing new. Lol

That happens with all games at times. I hope they put enough time to fix the glitches with this game or else I could see that happening nonstop.

All the AI has to do is follow the player from behind and use weapons effectively. Wouldn`t be that hard. UT99 had great AI and that`s an old game.
I think it would awesome if I could have all 4 characters in-game, and switch around from character to character at will. Could be great for solving some puzzles.

ai is always so hit or miss. they annoy you sometimes and help you sometimes. i kinda like being alone most the time, i hate lining up a shot then the computer shoots the zombie before me or im trying to melee a zombie and the computer shoots it first, im speaking mostly of resident evil games. but its nice if they heal you or can carry items.

i kinda like how assassins creed had it set up. you would do side missions or whatever to get them on your side then if you are in a big fight you can click a button and have them show up and kick butt and then leave afterwards

maybe a way that would make everyone happy is for there to be a option to disable AI all together during the campaign
