Thug Hunting (+ excellent weapon drops)

So this somewhat worked spent about 3-4 hours doing this and for the first hour all thugs didnt start droping a thing. after my 3rd trip They started dropping on average 400-700$. the next trip 600-800 and maxed out with 1000 and not a penny more. BUT then they started dropping Purple and Orange level machetes, being Xian Mei, made me happy. But as for weapon goes I got the biggest reward for using a level 18 orange machete with the hot rod blade mod.

K another update to this tactic. I spent a solid 8-10 hours yesterday doing this at levels 19-26 around this 5 hour not only was the thugs dropping more money than a low life at a strip club ( around $2000-3000 a drop) I also was getting Lvl Orange weapons on nearly every other thug. Then did my usual chest looting rounds around the bungalows and such and most provided a lvl purple or orange weapon. One of them being the eviscerator, which my dumb ass manage to loose after throwing it trying to Dupe it. But if you have a day off and want to watch your money raise tremendously try this tactic. It works!

4. Critical Hits to the Head. I have occasionally been rewarded with several drops in a row after making mince meat out of the thugs. Hitting them in the head with a critical hit causes them to hunch over, nearly knocked out, where you can deliver several more critical hits and demolish them in as little as 4 hits. The more often this occurs the more likely you are to get a quality weapon drop.

Guys, even if you don't get any big rewards, doing this feels like you're really kicking their asses with authority.

I always get a lot of Money from them.

I never thought about a special technique for killing Thugs. I go in, throw my Shock Axe into them and then hit them with my Zed's Demise. I works well ^^. I will try to kill a Thug only with my fists now, hope it works (and I don't end beaten up )

I usually cut off your arms then head. Takes about 3 hits? If they live... Normally they die in 1 hit. :P

I might be hilariously late on this but, have you kids tried Plaguebearer dev craft + any fire mod? I haven't gotten any really good weapon drops but the cash is there so far if they survive getting set on fire and then finishing them off with any blunt attack...

YES! I love my plague bearing military knife. If my weapon is damaged I just hit the thug or ram with that and wale on them with my fist.

So hey, this happened today: turned the game on to the Pure Blood main quest and decided to use the Homerun Baseball Bat for all the Thugs and Floaters, the Thug in the very last wave with Ope before meeting Yerema dropped me an orange Blunt Speaker.

Gonna do some hunting later tonight, see if that was either a fluke or a much easier/goretastic method to hustle these bodybuilders.
