What? I have a 50" Samsung plasma and it is the best set for gaming by far, even better than my LED. My Plasma is 7 years old now and there has never been an issue with it.
Keep in mind that Plasma sets are meant for darker rooms like a basement because of the glare on the glass screen but you can't get faster response, whiter whites and darker blacks than a plasma(there is no screen blur with plasma). There is no more issue's when it comes to screen burn in as well, those were the older plasma's 10 years ago.
50" Samsung Plasma hooked to Harmon Kardon 7.1 Surround Sound....doesn't get better than this when playing games, only thing better would be a larger plasma unit.

Plasmas are really, really good... My 50" Panasonic has lasted about 5 years now and it still has no problems. Also worth mentioning I use it heavily, about 3-6 hours per day on essentially every day. And it is in a sunny room but there is hardly any problems with glare.

On top of all that Plasma tv's are being phased out some so the prices are incredibly low I saw the updated version of my plasma for under $800 which is very cost effective for what you are getting.
