Thinking about writing a story

I've been mulling around the idea of writing a zombie story that is set in the city I live in, Philadelphia, but instead of the stereotypical group of adults fighting to keep children safe and so on, I want it to be a group of teenagers, because in all honesty they'd have the best chance of survival. Older people for the most part would just wet themselves and cry, whereas teenagers would start collecting what they needed to find. And very rarely do you find one that's based in a city with people moving around, they get somewhere then stay put or die getting there. I want it to be a group of unlikely comrades, pretty much the popular kids and the non-popular kids, but they all have something to offer to the group. Pretty much this idea first came to me as an idea for a video game, but I'm not into programming at all and I doubt anybody I know who is has the ability to do it yet. I had some good ideas for it but I'm better at writing stories so I'll stick to my strong suit. lol

ditto, I think it'd be more of a Lord of the Flies kinda deal. Though the joys of makin **** up is that it's only restriction is your morals/imagination

I always brainstorm a story about waking up to fight zombies after a hangover just like the DI intro. I'd work it into finding other 3 survivors and so far I've got a stoner that looks like RVD, a gay yuppie that looks like Ricky Martin, and the fat drug dealer that used to live on my street.

@Rob, the thing about teenagers is most groups of friends have a lynch-pin personality in the group, somebody who keeps them in line, the guy or girl that everybody will begin to jokingly call mom or dad. from what I have seen, in crisis situations the good friends look to them for advice and the fair-weather friends just leave.

I wrote a book 400 pages long when I was 17. Every person I've told about
it thinks I'm BS'ing. I have a clear story plot and the book like yours focuses
on teenager's surviving in a small county who keep moving and getting supplies
until they reach Miami and find a dark secret...
