campaign save issue

i dont know where to ask for help but the issue im having is that i had online enabled in my campaign and someone joined my game telling me they beat the game and had unlimited weapons and god mode and handed me a gun so i just picked up the gun and dropped out the game because i wanted to continue my quests the right way without cheating so when i get back into the game i notice all my quests are completed and it spawns me to the jungle chapter 6 but i was in chapter 3 character level 23 and i dont want to start all over again...is there a way to fix this? someone pleas help

dude that sucks, hmm if you don't wanna ruin any of the story or anything then maybe start a new char with whatever person you were with (aka xian, sam, purna, or logan) then there should be an option to play from a certain chaper. I've never done that though so I don't exactly know what will happen.

I thought that only happens if you beat the game with that character. Maybe I'm wrong, I've never tried that before finishing the game.

nah I screwed up once and hit xian on the new screen and it said I could start from prolouge-chapter 2 aka where I was.

something similar like that happen to me. I had already completed the campaign once before so i started a new one with the same character that way i could continue to level up and have all my weopons and misc. in my inventory still. I never really played online before, so i was wanting to try it out and joined someone else's game. I played for like 3 minutes and decided to drop out since the guy was just running around not doing anything specific. Once I had dropped out I had noticed that one side quest from the lifeguard tower was completed and the quest where you have to get fuel for mike to burn the bodys outside the lifeguard tower had already been started. Since I had just started a new game, I new I hadn't talked to Mike yet and I knew I didn't complete any other side quest yet, so i figured since i joined that guys game whatever he had completed marked my quested list as completed as well. It wasn't a big deal for me since I have already played it, but I don't think there is a way to fix it. If you don't want to ruin the story, I would personally start the game with a new character, and once your new character got to the same chapter you are with your current one you could switch over so you can use your weopons that you don't wanna lose. or just play the new character all the way thru and then play your old character. hope this helps sorry about what happened, i know it takes a lot of time to level up and what not.

that sucks, i still don't think there is a way to fix it tho. beside creating a new character

at least ya didn't completely lose a save(my lvl 41 purna) but it still will let me start from the chapters i completed even though I didn't completely beat the game with her yet. Worse things could happen, maybe you didn't restart from your last checkpoint before playing a multiplayer game?

maybe just try shutting off the game and reloading your save. it maybe all his completed quests just bled over into your quests.
