confused about this

I have got the mission where I gotta drive van back to the lighthouse tower but I went and done a few side missions first to gain bit more xp, so I selected the main mission to go drive it but its not coming up on map which way I gotta go. So I got back to the church and looked down steps and the van has gone and now I can't continue on with the story line.. Anyone know what's happened?

If the map isn't showing you the direction you need to go for a quest try placing a way-point on the location manually via your map. Try that and see if it works, I'm sure the game wouldn't bug out and stop you from continuing with the story line.

I know how to get back to the church and the mission in that car park bit at bottom of stairs but the vana gone.

Hm.. Have you tried fast travelling to the Lifeguard Tower and seeing if the truck is there?

but for the truck to be back to the lifeguard tower it would mean he completed the quest, which would be quite the glitch if it completed itself, once again, not unheard of

This has happened to me when I was on Xbox, if u ever find that u can't continue with the story just kill yourself and all will be good, other than losing some money ;-)

nothing surprises me with this game. i know alot of times that truck will spawn up by that bridge right where that lady is yelling for you to get her trapped husband out of the car. maybe its there. and theres always the easy way out by joining someones game who is at a similar point

I travelled to the lifeguard tower and selected the quest and the truck was down at the road where u travell to next area without fast travelling and the car was there. Now I have managed to do the misson and its at the tower.

I went back to the beach area before driving the truck back and when I did it automatically teleported the truck to the other side of the tunnel where you first go to head into the city. That's probably what happened.
